Volunteer wellbeing
Jamboree Denmark 2026 must be a place where it is meaningful, fun and social to volunteer. We want to create an environment where volunteering provide unique opportunities and experiences both before and during the jamboree.
We have choosen to prioritize the social aspect of volunteering as we know from previous jamborees that volunteer wellbeing is crucial for a successfull jamboree. This also aligns with our shared values about community, engagement and joy.
As we do not have comparable data from previous jamborees, we have instead based our efforts on general experiences and knowledge on what may give the biggest effect.
One of our goals is to gather data so we can define specific goals and improve volunteer wellbeing going forward.
To create the best setting for our volunteers, we have done the following:
- All leadership positions are filled by a two-person team. This ensures that it is possible to take a break when neceassary, without affecting the entire planning process
- Allowed the volunteers to choose for themselves which subcamp to live in.
- Established a volunteer lounge where they can relax and enjoy each others company.
- Established a repair shop in the volunteer lounge where you can get help fixing your gear.
- .
- Appointed a person respinsible for volunteer wellbeing in all parts of the planning organization.
The initiatives are mostly coordinated by FRI, but there are also local initiatives elsewhere on the jamboree.
We measure the wellbeing through questionnaires. The results are used in our ESG report and to improve future jamborees.
