We are Denmark’s largest scout camp and the largest camp for children and young people in the Nordic region
Approximately every four years, all scouts from the Danish and international scout movement are invited to Scout Camp – the largest scout camp in the Nordic countries with over 30,000 participants and another 50,000 guests visiting the camp.
The Scout Movement is Denmark’s largest children’s and youth movement with almost 70,000 members in five scout corps, all of which are members of Foreningen Spejderne. Our common mission is: together, the scouts prepare children and young people for life through community, outdoor life and challenges. On this page you can read more about what Scout Camp is and why we organize it.
What is the purpose of the jamboree?
With Jamboree Denmark, the Danish Scout movement wants to manifest a sustainable, diverse and international Scouting community. We want to create unforgettable scouting experiences that shape the future of scouting for children and young people and invite the outside world to see what scouting has to offer. The Jamboree Denmark will strengthen the joint cooperation locally, regionally and nationally, and give participants an experience of being part of a global movement.

Activities at the jamboree
Skilled volunteers develop over 300 fun and educational activities for children and young people. These include physical challenges such as night runs in the darkness of the forest, the use of innovative technologies such as 3D printing of souvenirs in recycled plastic, inspirational presentations about the future from scientists and enthusiasts, special activities at local cultural institutions – and much, much more.
What does a day at Scout Camp look like?
Imagine thousands of tents in every color and size as far as the eye can see. Between the tents are ingenious raft structures with hammocks, raised fire pits, tables and large welcome gates used by the 30,000 Scouts at the camp. During the day, the scouts are out doing some of the more than 300 fun and educational activities, while the smoke rises from hundreds of small cooking fires in the evening as groups work together to prepare the food.
After dinner, the day is evaluated together as the peace and quiet settles in before a new day of adventure begins. This is what a day at camp looks like for most participants, but you are also welcome as a volunteer or guest, as Scout Camp is for everyone who wants to experience an hour, a day or a week as part of the scouting community.

How big is Jamboree Denmark?
The camp covers approximately 100 football pitches and is divided into four large sub-camps where the scout groups have their base and tents. In addition, a temporary town has been built to service guests and participants for the nine days of the camp. In addition to critical infrastructure such as water, toilets, power and internet, the camp also includes a camp hospital, canteens for volunteers, a scout square with food trucks and shops, several stages and drop-in activity areas, as well as parking lots and information towers for both guests and participants.

The fourth Jamboree Denmark
From Saturday, July 18 to Sunday, July 26, 2026, the next Scout Camp will be held in Hedeland Nature Park (Zealand). This will be the fourth time the Nordic region’s largest scout camp will be held, and the first time it will be held in an area that has previously been used as a campsite. Holstebro hosted in 2012, Sønderborg in 2017 and Hedeland Nature Park also hosted the camp in 2022. And we already know that Scout Camp 2030 will be held in Silkeborg Municipality.
Who is behind Jamboree Denmark?
Over 4,000 volunteers help create the Scout Camp, organized by Foreningen Spejderne and its five member corps: Det Danske Spejderkorps, KFUM-Spejderne, De grønne pigespejdere, Danske Baptisters Spejderkorps and Dansk Spejderkorps Sydslesvig.
In addition, Scout Camp 2026 is held in collaboration with Høje-Taastrup Municipality and Roskilde Municipality as well as Hedeland Nature Park and lots of great organizations that support the camp.
