Welcome to our volunteer community for Scout Camp
This is where you will find all the practical information that applies to you as a volunteer and gives you an insight into how the camp is structured. This is the first time that Scout Camp will be held in the same location as a previous camp, but that doesn’t mean that everything will be the same as the last camp – not even in our camp organization.
We are constantly developing the organization based on our new experiences, and on this page you can find the most important information for you and the approximately 5,000 other volunteers who contribute to giving 30,000 children and young people a great camp experience and are part of our cross-corps community of volunteers.
Our goal is to make it fun and educational to be a volunteer at Scout Camp 2026, which is why we work with this vision for the camp.
What is the camp structure like for volunteers?
For Camp 2026, we have divided the camp organization into seven areas, each with specific responsibilities that they must fulfill. Each area is basically divided according to the same structure.
At the top is the area and its two area managers who sit on the Camp Management Committee for the camp. All areas have ‘Committees’ that can handle larger tasks and can be divided into ‘Teams’ and/or ‘Working Groups’ with more specific tasks. This structure helps support decision-making based on the responsibility and task at hand, and ensures that postings in a team do not have to be approved by the area managers, but by the Team Leader. The different areas vary in size and therefore the number of volunteers assigned to each area will differ.
Do we meet physically before the camp?
The different areas each have a vision for how we can fulfill our responsibilities and how we can ensure a great community where it’s fun to plan the camp. This means, among other things, that we have three physical planning meetings for all volunteers in the organization before the camp, and each area will also have their own physical meetings for their volunteers during the planning phase.
What do I get out of volunteering?
It’s no secret that it takes a lot of hands to run Scout Camp, so in addition to being part of a huge community, there are also plenty of opportunities to develop your skills, expand your network and make a lot of great memories. We also have a committee whose sole purpose is to make volunteering even more rewarding. We can’t reveal the details yet, but we’re confident that it will further help make Scout Camp the best place to volunteer.

It is crucial for us to create a safe environment for our many children and young people who attend the camp. That’s why we obtain child certificates for all volunteers who will be in contact with children at the camp. We also obtain your child certificate even if you have already handed in a child certificate to your own scout troop.
Where should I live as a volunteer?
This year there will not be a volunteer-only sub-camp. Instead, there will be no less than four different sub-camps, and in each of these there will be an area dedicated to volunteers. This has been decided to meet the need to be closer to the volunteer work that you do, but also to get closer to the camp atmosphere, which takes place in the sub-camps.
Each sub-camp will have its own canteen attached, making it easier to reach and eat your meals. Adjacent to the canteen, there will also be an area dedicated to volunteers, providing a place to relax and socialize between shifts.
Do I always have to eat in the same canteen?
The plan for eating at camp is that volunteers eat breakfast and dinner in the canteen located in the sub-camp they are staying in. For lunch, you can choose which canteen you would like to eat in, as it will often be the case for many volunteers that their activities/shifts are closer to another canteen than the one closest to their campsite.
Do you have any questions?
