How do I become a volunteer?

This page will give you an insight into what it means to volunteer at Camp 2026. We want to give you an overview of SL2026 as an organization, so it’s as easy as possible for you to find the right area to volunteer in. Our goal is to create an unforgettable experience for both participants and volunteers.

Take a look in our job bank

We have developed a job bank that is continuously updated with the tasks we need help with right now. It can be anything from content development for stage shows, coordinators, Excel sharks, people to cook or manage our social media.

You can also always write an email to frivillig@sl2026.dk

Three joint weekends

Before Camp 2026 takes place from 18 to 26 July, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet the other volunteers in the planning organization. In addition to online and physical meetings in each of the seven areas of the camp organization, we also have three joint planning weekends where it will be possible to meet and coordinate with volunteers from the other areas. The planning weekends will take place on February 21-23, 2025, September 19-21, 2025 and March 13-15, 2026. The meetings will be held at a school in either Roskilde or Høje-Taastrup Municipality.

Scout Camp 2026 as an organization

SL2026 is divided into seven areas, below you can read about each area and find out exactly which area you would like to volunteer in. We have created a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities where you can contribute with your skills, interests and energy.

What is ØBI?

ØBI is the area of Finance, Sustainability & Procurement, and it is here that the responsibility for the budget, major procurement agreements, and the financial overview resides, all with a focus on both social and environmental sustainability across the camp.

What is AoE?

AoE is the Activities & Events area. This is the area that is responsible for providing a lot of great activities for the camp participants, but also making sure that we can meet for shared experiences such as campfires.

What is LEJ?

LEJ is the area for Campsite & Camp Life and is responsible for the physical environment at the camp. This includes everything from food delivery and cookbook, to everything that will create community in the sub-camps.

What is IB?

IB is the area of Infrastructure and Emergency Response and this is where everything from drinking water to sewage, power and internet, and camp design belongs, as well as what conditions must be present to ensure safety is top notch.

What is KOM?

COM is the area for Communication & Advocacy and this is where you work with the expression that the camp should have, whether this be graphically as signs and websites, or as radio or TV. This is also where the voice of Camp 2026 lies when we need to communicate with the outside world.

What is DEL?

DEL is the Participants area, which is responsible for ensuring that participants have the information they need, whether it is for the Danish or international scouts, but also the logistics needed to get all participants transported to and from the camp.

What is FRI?

FRI is the area for Volunteers & HR. This is the area that is responsible for the volunteers and must therefore ensure their well-being and provide a system that makes it easy and manageable to be a volunteer, both before, during and after the camp. The area is also responsible for evaluating the camp so that it is possible to benefit from it in the future.

Openings for volunteers

During the camp, we will be around 5,000 volunteers working together to give 30,000 children and young people a fantastic camp. But there are already hundreds of volunteers working together to create the best environment for the camp. You can see more in our job bank here

You are also always welcome to write to frivillig@sl2026.dk and offer your help. You will then be contacted by the camp organization and together we can find out where your help makes the most sense.
