FAQ
Our FAQ is divided into the same five sections, which reflect the steps in the activity registration process.
🔓 Part 1 Access and Preparation
👥 Part 2: Team Formation (Who should go together?)
📝 Part 3: The Wishlist (Completion and Rules)
🗓️ Part 4: Distribution and Post-registration (After the Request Period)
🚌 Part 5: Leadership Roles & Practical Execution
🔓 Part 1: Access and Preparation
Can everyone access the activity catalogue (after 11th April) or is a login required?
1. Everyone can access the activity catalogue–it is publicly available (no login needed).
I’m finding it difficult to keep track of activities in the wishlist system, what should I do?
It’s recommended to locate your desired activities in the activity catalogue (where search and filter features are better), then find the activity number in the registration system.
If you cannot find an activity, it might be because one or more scouts are outside the recommended age group. In that case, you can remove the tick from ‘only show age-appropriate activities’ to display all activities.
Are there activities for all age groups?
Generally yes, but as the primary target group at the jamboree is 11 to 17 years old, there are more activities for these ages. However, activities for all can be found, and for family scouts, an activity rotates through different subcamps, visiting each subcamp once a week.
Who in the group can log in to the wishlist system?
The registration managers responsible for entries in CampOS.
👥Part 2: Team Formation (Who should go together?)
Once everything is in place, the leaders need to organise the scouts.
Should we make a wishlist per group or per activity team?
Create one wishlist per activity team.
Activity teams should be split according to those doing activities together, often making sense to group by branches/ages. Thus, those in an activity team must have a wishlist relevant to their scouts.
How many activity teams should we create?
There is no limit on the number of activity teams you can create, as it largely depends on your group’s size.
If you’re a small group, for example, with 5 younger and 5 older scouts, you can advantageously create a team for each age group and select activities relevant to them. If you are a group of 100, you may want to split into several activity teams based on age groups and patrols/smaller teams if that suits your group.
How many can be on an activity team?
There are no limits on this.
Groups can freely decide whether to go around in age groups or patrols, for example. Thus, there’s no limit to whether a team has 5 or 30 members. However, we advise against forming overly large teams, as some activities may not have capacity for so many, thus you might not get assigned to that activity.
Can my scouts be part of multiple activity teams?
In the wish phase (11th April – 3rd May), each scout and leader can only be affiliated with one team in the system. This ensures the distribution works smoothly. There’s no need for each team to have a designated leader. For instance, if you have a group that can participate on their own, they can easily register without a leader.
When the registration system opens on 17th May, after the allocation of wishes, you’ll be able to register the scouts for the available activities. This means you can organise the scouts as you like when signing them up for various activities.
How do friendship groups work?
It’s possible to create joint activity teams with ‘friendship groups’ from the same subcamp. One host group must invite the group or groups they wish to collaborate with, forming teams open for friendship groups to register scouts. The invited friendship groups can then register scouts for the teams that the host group has set up for them.
You cannot undo the connection, so make sure you want to collaborate with a group before inviting or accepting a friendship group request.
Further technical guidance can be found in the user manual, which will be published when the wish system opens.
📝 Part 3: The Wishlist (Completion and Rules)
Now it’s time to enter your wishes. Here we’ll address the technical hurdles.
Why can’t I proceed with only 8 activities?
In the wishlist system, you MUST select exactly 10 activities to advance to the prioritisation stage and ensure your wishes are included in the distribution phase.
The wishlist is saved automatically, so if by May 3rd you 3. have not completed the list with precisely 10 activities per group, your wishes may not be included in the distribution. Therefore, it’s crucial to enter exactly 10 wishes.
If one or more scouts are not within the specified age group, can they still register and participate?
Yes, as the leader, you assess whether scouts outside the specified target group can participate in the activity.
NOTE! If you’ve ticked ‘only show age-appropriate activities’, an activity won’t be displayed if even one scout in the team falls outside the age range. You can untick this to display all activities.
How many activities can be gained from the jamboree?
How many activities can be gained from the jamboree
Can I change my wishes and priorities?
Yes, you can change and reprioritise your wishes until the 3rd of May. The system will lock and close on the 3rd of May at 23:59, after which changes are not permitted during the distribution phase.
🗓️ Part 4: Distribution and Post-registration (After the Request Period)
What happens when the system shuts down? 3. May, and when registration opens on 17. May?
Is everyone guaranteed at least one wish will be fulfilled?
The system aims to fulfil as many requests as possible, but if everyone wants the same few activities, there may not be enough space for all. Remember, you can only be assigned one activity outside the jamboree, so if you’ve requested many external activities, you’ll only get one of these fulfilled.
What if my leader hasn’t participated in the wish round?
14. After the request and distribution phase, activity registration opens on the 17th of May, for all activities still with available places. After this, registration will be first come, first served. If you missed the wish round, it’s wise to be ready by the 17th of May to register for activities.
What if guides and scouts are registered for the jamboree after the preference round?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer extra places in registration activities that are fully booked. It is recommended to monitor the registration system, as places may become available due to cancellations or if guides and scouts return home or fall ill. These can then be booked on a first come, first served basis.
Where are the activities for adults?
Activities for adults will only become available in the registration phase, following the wishlist and distribution phases.
🚌 Part 5: Leadership Roles & Practical Execution
This section covers the actual days at the jamboree and how daily life is organised.
What does a leadership role on an activity team involve?
If you’re assigned as a leader (by selecting the shield next to the person in the wishlist or registration system), you need to be aware that your role is specified for each activity, and unless stated otherwise, you shouldn’t expect to participate alongside the guides and scouts on equal terms.
If an activity is marked with ‘we encourage leaders to assist’, what does that mean?
18. This means that leaders are very welcome to assist in the activity. The activity staff will guide you and indicate what help is needed.
However, it is still possible to send an activity team without a leadership role on
How do you get to the activities outside the jamboree?
Activity buses transport participants to the areas situated outside the jamboree. Departures will be from a central stop at subcamp Havet (the sea). A bus ticket with route and timing is automatically provided when you register for an activity taking place outside the jamboree.
If you wish to hike or use another means to reach the activity, you are welcome to do so, but it is your responsibility to arrive on time.
