Hour of Reflection from 19.30 to 21.30

The Hour of Reflection is planned for Wednesday from 19.30 to 21.30. The whole jamboree will take a break from our hectic schedules and make spaces for reflection and conversations.

The Hour of Reflection is a quiet evening activity period, a kind of culture night in first gear at the jamboree. During the Hour of Reflection, you can experience different activities and events with a focus on slowing down and finding peace so that thoughtfulness and reflection can occur. A small breathing space in the middle of the jamboree where the first days’ impressions can soak in and make room for more impressions for the rest of the camp.

Some of the activities available during the other activity periods will be in a format adapted to the Hour of Reflection, so that they take place at a slower pace and focus on reflection and contemplation. In addition, there will be activities planned exclusively for the Hour of Reflection that cannot be experienced at any other time. A more detailed program and catalog for the Hour of Reflection will follow closer to the jamboree.

The activities are aimed at the age range 8-17 years old, but adults and kids under 8 years old are also welcomes. Kids under 8 years old should be accompanied by an adult.

Time for reflection

During Tænketimen (the hour of reflection) you can slow down and think about your own values, habits and way of life. The activities are made so you leave the hour with food for thought.

A room for conversation

At Jamboree Denmark 2026 a lot of different cultures and traditions are coming together, making it a perfect place to reflect on your own approach. The main focus of Tænketimen is to create a space where differences can meet, and learn more about themselves and others. In some activities dialogue is at the focus.

The option for spirituality

Whether you packed your faith in your backpack, left it at home or has none, Tænketimen gives space for discussion, exploration and development of faith. Take a chance to learn how others approach their faith.

“Samlingsområdet” – a space for gathering

This is where the jamboree comes together, finds peace and feels that everyone belongs together and belongs. The goal of the gathering is to create an open, cross-body space where everyone can participate and together we can find out what gathering means for the individual and our community.

Calm, reflection, faith, meeting people and the hymn are different expressions of the same thing: Making space for each other, meeting each other openly and taking time to both feel and share the thoughts that make us stronger scouts and people.

The Gathering location at Aktivitetscenter Øst (Activitycenter East) will have a heart for thought, reflections and identifying the moments where you can feel the guide and scout spirit deeply. We will work with what binds us together through our community we are all a part out, no matter the color of our scarfs, faith and background. Here you will find:

The church

The aim is for the guides and scouts to encounter the stories and values of Christianity in different ways, sometimes in silence, sometimes through play, creativity, singing and fun. Participants can look forward to a good mix of free and enrollment activities, such as the church’s own escape room with ancient prophecies, star maps and mysterious clues. There will also be pop-up activities, beatbox services, taizé, morning devotions, evening devotions and much more. There are activities and experiences for all ages.

The Mosque

The Semerkand Scouts host the camp’s mosque, where everyone is welcome to stop by, ask questions, participate in prayer or just be curious. There are both daily prayers and Friday prayers.

The Heathen Tent

Here you will find a heathen tent with space for spiritual thoughts, complete with an alter for the nordic gods. You can meet an Asatro Gode (equivalent to a priest) and participate in a “blót” ceremoni.

Samlingspunktet “The Gathering space”

Samlingspunktet is a big tent full of calm and presence, with space for conversations, large and small. It’s a open space and invites for rest while exploring the guide and scouting values i new ways. Come here to take a break. During the week there will be small inspirational talks.

The Shamans Jurt

“Tænketid” – Reflection
