A million-kroner donation makes innovative jamboree activities possible
Over 16,000 children and young people can look forward to tackling the ‘Community Camp Life’ Challenge at Jamboree Denmark 2026, where they’ll among other things, hunt for posts and collaborate to solve various tasks. The donation from the Spar Nord Foundation will be used to create an exciting environment for the activity and to support the use of the digital tool Boxter.
Donation allows us to dream big
“The donation makes it possible for us to organise the activity we’ve been dreaming about for years. It’s going to be fantastic seeing thousands of children and young people test their skills and compete on a scale that only Jamboree Denmark can offer,” say Andreas Lynnerup and Mathias Højsting, who are voluntary section managers responsible for the jamboree activities.
The imaginative framework of the activity involves participants helping a professor to create the perfect scout or guide (robot). They must first gather materials hidden around the jamboree; creativity and strategic thinking are vital, and tasks can be adapted to the participants’ skills and age. After the jamboree, scout and guide groups will have the opportunity to borrow the equipment and further develop the race in their own backyards.

The activity should strengthen the sense of community
Participants are challenged in their collaboration, problem-solving, and understanding of technology during the race, and they gain a practical insight into how guiding and scouting can evolve with modern technology, while the tasks promote reflection on sustainability, innovation and fellowship. Data on their task solutions is collected so they can compete across groups, municipalities and subcamps using Boxter technology.
The activity offers a large group of children the chance to enjoy new experiences at their jamboree. They need to work together and solve problems, thereby strengthening their relationships with each other. They’ll also gain new experiences with technology and sustainable solutions, and the equipment itself can be used in their local scout and guide groups afterwards. In this way, they’ll continue to benefit from the financial support even after Jamboree Denmark 2026 concludes, says foundation director Bo Uggerhøj.
In total, Spar Nord Foundation has donated 1.5 million kroner (roughly EUR 200,000) towards the activity, which is expected to involve 16,000 guides and scouts aged 8 to 17.

Talented volunteers bring loads of fun activities
The ‘Community Camp Life’ activity is just one of many activities that talented volunteers from the Jamboree Planning Organisation are developing. At Jamboree Denmark 2026, it will also be possible to participate in activities focused on democracy, sustainability, technology and culture. Experience a night run in the forest’s darkness, craft your own jamboree souvenir from recycled plastic, listen to Viking stories beneath the ancient arches of Roskilde Cathedral, meet researchers and enthusiasts who are passionate about future challenges—and much, much more. In total, it’s expected that there will be nearly 300 different activities available. The digital activity catalogue for the jamboree is expected to be ready by early 2026.
